I know it comes as no surprise that I love circles. I'm not sure why I'm so fascinated with them, but I use them often in my artwork, both abstract and representational works. My son says I need to explore this fixation with circles. He sees them as windows and he wonders where my windows lead to. 

To me, my circles look like other worlds. So maybe that's the answer. My circles are windows, which are portals to another world. Another world for me.

This piece is just a little different for me. It's mostly acrylic paints. There's a hint of dark blue ogura lace paper, though. Of course there's a ton of beads, a scattering of fossil leaves and another cute little dragonfly ceramic piece. Sometimes I wish I did ceramics, but mostly I think it's better that I don't go trifling in that medium. I know that I couldn't stand the heartbreak if something I loved blew up in the kiln!

Diamondback Terrapins

I've never seen a diamondback terrapin before, but I'm pretty certain this is what they look like. ;)

Now, I must address the comments left on my last post by my 8-year-old niece.

Yes, Georgia, I agree. The turtles look much cuter with eyes, and now they have some! :D

And that beautiful thing which you couldn't identify is actually the background for the turtles. Unfortunately, it didn't work they way I had intended so I had to paint over it. It doesn't look as beautiful, but the turtles were the most important thing here, so I had to make the background less beautiful in order to make the turtles more so.

And, no, I still haven't made any swans, yet. But thanks for reminding me. That gives me a great  idea!
