Cottage No. 5 - Tybee Island Cottage Tour

CRABARITAVILLE - 501 JONES AVENUE - TYBEE ISLAND

Crab cutouts in the picket fence?!? I almost unpacked my bag and moved in.

It's not shabby chic without a vintage or vintage-style chandelier!

Retro bicycles are a favorite form of island transportation.

Meet Elliott, the resident guard cat. (He's all fluff!)

Horizontal striped walls. You don't see that every day.

Don't we all need a bag for stuff?

All cottages decorated by Jane Coslick.

For rental information please contact Mermaid Cottages or Tybee Cottages.

Cottage No. 2 - Tybee Island Holiday Cottage Tour

Yes, it really is just 99 1/2 steps from the beach!
Cottage No. 2 is actually the first cottage we visited on the tour. Cute, cute, cute!!! It was a formar railroad station and the detached bedroom in the back yard had been the ticket booth. Yes... detached bedroom! How wonderful is that?

OLD LOVE COTTAGE - 9 LOVELL AVENUE - TYBEE ISLAND

Yes, this is where the detached bedroom resides!

Obviously it's a crab trap; it trapped me!!!

A peak in through the doorway of the detached bedroom.

And a peek in through the door.
A look to the back of the house from the bedroom steps.
The outdoor shower. No beach cottage is complete without one.
We discovered this shy mermaid hiding beneath the steps to the detached bedroom.

And this one was sitting above the outdoor shower.
Once again, all cottages on the tour were decorated by Jane Coslick, and can be rented through either Mermaid Cottages or Tybee Cottages.

Tybee Island Cottage Tour - Cottage No. 1

Last spring, a group of my girlfriends and I (we collectively call ourselves the V-Jewels) spent a weekend together in a delightful cottage on Tybee Island. We were completely enchanted with the cottage and the surrounding area, so when I saw that a holiday cottage tour was being offered at Tybee this weekend, I jumped at the chance to take it. Each cottage was more delightful than the next and the proceeds of the tour benefited The Humane Society of Greater Savannah. Each of the cottages was decorated by renowned designer, Jane Coslick, and many of them are available for rent through Mermaid Cottages or Tybee Cottages

Because I took so many photos (well over 200) I thought it best to blog about my tour cottage by cottage. I've decided to feature them in order of the tour program, although this is not the order in which we made the tour. As a matter of fact, Cottage No. 1, which is featured here, is the last cottage we saw for the day.

SPLASH COTTAGE - 13 LOGAN ST - TYBEE ISLAND

All ready for an island Christmas!

The wide front porch makes for great usable extra living space.

This is the living room side of the double sided fireplace.

There's a doorway which leads from the master bedroom to the private inground pool. How romantic is that?

Note that this is the dining room side of the double sided fireplace.

Cute fishies hanging on the front porch.

Look for more cottages in the upcoming days!
