Life Is Art

No, the quote is not mine, but I loved supplying the artwork behind it!

Tangy Zoodle #60 In Black & White

I've gotten into the habit of carrying a small sketchbook with me in my handbag along with a .01 Micron in sepia and a mechanical pencil. I worked on this Tangy Zoodle while killing time in Barnes and Noble with my sister and niece over the weekend and then finished it up while in the waiting room of my doctor's office.

My Happy Place

I always find inspiration whenever I visit Longwood Gardens and being there always lifts my spirits. I was just there this past Friday and tried out the new panoramic feature on my camera in my smart phone. Now I can capture the gardens' beauty even better than before.

Happiness

I'm attempting to do more art journaling these days and I've decided to use some of my favorite quotes and "me-isms" as the subject of these journal pages. This particular "me-ism" is one of my favorites and came as pure enlightenment when I finally figured this one out and applied it to my life.

The journal page began with the quote written on a lightweight piece of kraft paper which was glued onto the page with other scraps of the same kraft paper. Circles were inscribed with a compass and then I tangy-zoodled them up. A watercolor wash was applied by using watercolor pencils and then applying water with a brush. Last, and certainly not least, is a butterfly that I cut freehand from a clothing catalog and then accented liberally with glitter glue.

I hope you're not tired of seeing these, because I'm certainly not tired of making them!

An Adventure In Bonaventure Cemetery

Oddly, I've had several adventures in this, Savannah's most infamous and most beautiful cemetery. I've painted there, geocached there, taken an after dark in the middle of a thunderstorm ghost tour there and most recently a springtime photo safari. Here is a sample of the photos I took.
