Fun Stuff

These photos would be considered "outtakes" from my Art In The City photo album. These are more personal and just for fun subjects that I shot during my recent NYC visit.

Queen Anne's Lace

"Queen Anne's Lace" - Enhanced Digital Photo
There are a few flowers which fill me with nostalgia. Among them are Queen Anne's Lace. Remember, as a kid, sticking them in a vase of water which had been tinted with food coloring and watching the blossoms change color like magic? Well, if you've never done it, I say go do it. Now!

Welcome Home

"Welcome Home" - Enhanced Digital Photo

The original photo was captured in German Village (in Columbus, Ohio) just two summers ago. I thought it just begged for enhancement. :D The blue door, orange bricks and red flowers just spoke to me.

White Hydrangeas & Pink Roses

"White Hydrangeas & Pink Roses" - enhanced digital photo

Last weekend my niece, Olivia, got married and the wedding was all about white hydrangeas and pink rosebuds. They were everywhere, except for the bridal bouquet which was white hydrangeas and white rosebuds. (I absolutely adore white flowers!)

I was fortunate enough to be able to take home one of the table centerpieces which is the subject of this enhanced photo.

Tulips At The Farmers Market

"Tulips At The Market" - enhanced digital photo
I absolutely love visiting the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings in Forsyth Park and seeing, touching, smelling and tasting the best of the best of what this area has to offer in the way of produce. This time of year, tulips blaze like jewels and I couldn't resist snapping a couple of photos as I made my way through the crowd.

Camellias & Azaleas

"Camellias & Azaleas" - Enhanced Digital Photo
Believe it or not, I haven't always been a fan of digital photography and digital photo manipulation. You couldn't tell it from the way I love to play with photos.

Recently, my mother brought in some cut camellia and azalea blossoms from the yard and floated them in a floaty thingy (technical term). Of course I found them to be extremely photo worthy. Below is the "before"  photo and the one above is the "after." ;-)

New License Front End License Plate

Three Sunflowers!

This is my latest design for front end license plates which is one of the most popular products that I sell from Shop Crabulous! This was inspired by checking the list of state flowers. Do you know which state boasts the sunflower as their state flower? I do!

News On The Big Picture

I have not given up on The Big Picture, which I've been working on for my mother. This project was derailed slightly while I worked on a smaller picture for her, but not work has continued. I'm still enjoying it and loving the challenge. Just today, she asked me if it would be ready by Christmas. "No promises," I told her.

Sorry. My phone camera caught the glare. Hopefully I'll be able to get a well lit, perfect picture, when it's finished.

Big Picture Update

I'm slowly, but surely, making progress on the project for my mother which I refer to as the "big picture." Although I like working big like this, I'm not so sure that I'm crazy about working on canvas. The texture creates a drag on the markers of which I'm not very fond. I think next time, and there will be a next time, I might opt for a large piece of Rives BFK for printmaking. It's my all time favorite paper and I don't need much of an excuse to find a reason to buy it!

Just A Little Bit Further Along

Little by little this project is inching its way along. I even find myself working on it in the middle of the night when I've wakened momentarily. (The downside of keeping an art project alive in your bedroom!)

Back to the Big Picture

You remember that large gray canvas that I toned and was preparing to work on, right? Or maybe you don't. Anyway, work has begun and it's going slowly, but it's addicting. As you can probably see, it's one huge Tangy Zoodle. The canvas is currently in my bedroom and is always calling to me. I'm loving the process.

Daffodils

Yes, I know. This photo is out of sync and out of season, but I couldn't help posting it. It's been in my Camera Uploads file since July and I thought it was time to do something about it.

This past July, while visiting my cousin in Ohio, I looked over her collection of my artwork which she displays throughout her home. I'm truly honored to have her do that. This particular pastel was done ages ago and is one of my favorites. I just thought I'd share it.

Poppy Heart T-Shirt

Short sleeved Poppy Heart T
I just love this cute little design which I created from my Poppy Fields mixed media collage. Who doesn't like poppies and who doesn't like hearts? OK, don't answer that. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who don't, but my experience on Cafe Press via shop crabulous! is that there are a lot of people out there who do.

Something else I've discovered. The great maternity T-shirt design that Cafe Press is now using. Instead of the big tent design, it is now sleeker fitting with ruching along the sides. It doesn't just look great on expectant mothers, but also on women of a certain age with thicker waistlines, i.e. me! And the length of them makes them perfect with leggings. The maternity T's come in short sleeve, tank top and long sleeve versions and in a variety of colors. So, check it out!  Poppy Heart T's
