More Dragons of Mariarosa

Percival
You may or may not remember my earlier post regarding the dragon collaboration that I'm involved in with my cousin, (The Dragons of Mariarosa) but we've added two more to the collection. Percival is shown above and here is what he looked like in his original form when Mary Rose posted him on Facebook:

A Very Happy Dragon

And this is the lovely Guenevere in her original state:

Blue Fairy Dragon

I decided to have her walking in a wood, like a damsel in distress wannabe.

Guenevere
I always got a huge kick from the tongue in cheek lyrics of "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood" from the musical, "Camelot" (which I committed to memory as an impressionable teenager). There's a line where Guenevere sings, "Shall I never be rescued from a wood?" Aw, heck. Here are the entire lyrics (think melodrama):

Where are the simple joys of maidenhood?
Where are all those adoring daring boys?
Where's the knight pining so for me
he leaps to death in woe for me?
Oh where are a maiden's simple joys?

Shan't I have the normal life a maiden should?
Shall I never be rescued in the wood?
Shall two knights never tilt for me
and let their blood be spilt for me?
Oh where are the simple joys of maidenhood?

Shall I not be on a pedestal,
Worshipped and competed for?
Not be carried off, or better still,
Cause a little war?

Where are the simple joys of maidenhood?
Are those sweet, gentle pleasures gone for good?
Shall a feud not begin for me?
Shall kith not kill their kin for me?
Oh where are the trivial joys?
Harmless, convivial joys?
Where are the simple joys of maidenhood?

Shall kith not kill their kin for me? Really? Where ARE those simple joys of maidenhood? Haha!

I really enjoyed this dragon post. I feel the same way about angels, so I could really identify with your words and your images.

Thanks, Susan. It would be a treat to do this same sort of composition with angels, too.
